A luxurious four-star hotel in the center of the Moravian metropolis

This significant functionalist building of the Hotel International lies in the heart of Brno between the Špilberk castle and the historical center of the South Moravian metropolis. The hotel was built in 1962 in Brussels style and is registered on the list of cultural monuments as the UNESCO cultural heritage. Hotel International offers besides the luxurious accommodation in 233 comfortably furnished single and double rooms and spacious double and quadruple suites that are offered in several categories from standard to highly luxurious presidential suites also conference facilities for social events.

During the recent renovation of the hotel rooms the great emphasis was laid on energy saving aspect while maintaining the high standard of the hotel. This fact triggered a requirement for an integration of the new hotel booking system FIDELIO within the measuring and control system. Owing to this integrated application the unoccupied rooms may be switched to standby mode and according to the reservation system they on the contrary can be prepared before the customer's arrival.

Description of the project solution

• Turnkey delivery, installation and commissioning of a complete building management system technologies to control heating and cooling in individual hotel rooms and office spaces
• Design of the equipment for thermal energy saving for heating and cooling in the building with the enhanced user-friendly usage for both the client and the maintenance service staff
• Intelligent control of heating and cooling, depending on the availability and the booking of individual rooms
• Rooms are equipped with IRC controllers providing control of the heater, cooling units, scanning of the card reader and communication with the central control automation system
• Build-up of the dispatcher's center with BMS visualization program that is used to monitor and control building's technologies
• Build-up of the interface between the BMS and the hotel system Fidelio Suite 8, recording the data with the creation of graphical outputs, centralized data reporting, graphical display of controlled technology, remote access via the web
• Remote monitoring and evaluation of the energy consumption meters through communication networks (electricity meters, heat and cold metering data)
