DORN BRNO

The ecological multipurpose complex DORN in Brno

Another prominent feature of the southern city of Brno has become a multifunctional building DORN with its own parking house. This building with twelve floors above ground and one underground floor has positively contributed to the revival of the former industrial area as it did the shopping center Vaňkovka. DORN is predominantly an office building that has been complemented with smaller shops and a café. Buildings with office space in Brno are still promising market and this has been reflected in the withdrawal of the investor's original intention to build a hotel instead of an office building on this site.

DORN is a dominant thin building that has been built in the shape of two contiguous trapezoids creating a strong dynamic element enhanced by narrow bands of windows in bevel parts of the building. The facade of the entire DORN building is made from facing bricks. The glazed building's shopping windows are complemented with the strip windows on the upper floors.

Description of the project solution

  • Installation and commissioning of a complete building management system technologies
  • The central control system of electronic ballasts for lighting controlled through the communication protocol DALI and the central control system of contactor lighting circuits
  • The central control system and management of blinds and room controllers controlled through the communication protocol KNX
  • Monitoring of frequency converters controlled through the communication protocol ModBus
  • Monitoring of the current weather conditions using a meteorological station controlled through the communication protocol ModBus
  • Centralization of technology equipment is ensured by using a central, controlling dispatching center
  • Remote monitoring and evaluation of the energy consumption meters through communication networks (electricity meters, heat and cold metering data)

BMS section

  • Establishment of the central dispatching center with a graphic design interface SCADA
  • Interface for the remote access to the control dispatching center through the WebServer
